A Year of Change and Celebration at the Village Hall

The October 2025 AGM marked another successful year for the Village Hall Committee — and also a moment of transition, as several long-serving officers stepped down after decades of dedicated service.

For Linda Perry, 2025 marked her 30th year on the committee, during which she has led with enthusiasm and commitment. Morarg (“Mogs”) Davenport celebrated an incredible 35 years, during which she has kept our finances on a steady course with care and diligence. Lynn Pritchard, our Lettings Secretary for the past 16 years, has worked tirelessly to keep the Hall busy and thriving — with no regular weekday slots left unbooked! Pam Baker, who joined as Secretary in 2014, has kept us all organised and handled even the trickiest correspondence with good humour and skill.

Between them, Linda, Mogs, Lynn, and Pam have overseen everything from major refurbishments to kitchen and toilet upgrades, new fire doors, and a full re-piping of the heating system. Their collective dedication has ensured that our Hall remains a vibrant and well-run community space for everyone in the village.

It was also wonderful to note that Nita Parke and Frances Partridge have now been part of the committee for 50 years, having both joined back in 1975 — a truly remarkable record of service.

As our outgoing members hand over to the newly elected committee — Roger Ong, Beverly Barker, Ken Morgan, Ken Butcher, and Jackie Baker, with Nita and Frances continuing as representatives — we extend our heartfelt thanks to those retiring and wish the new team every success in guiding the Hall into its next chapter.

Together, we look forward to continuing the proud tradition of keeping Lytchett Matravers Village Hall at the heart of our community.
